Thanks for the reply. We are still feeding a watering her twice a day. If she takes a turn for the worse I fear we may have to just put her down..

Help! Bantam cochin doesn't have Marek's. BROKEN LEG!!!

Hey, I thought my banty cochin had mareks. Even though she was limping, she would drink and eat and love to limp to see us, even though she was going to get picked on and possibly mounted, recently, by another lower hen. Today, I spent time with her and thought, what if I feel her legs, are they...

    Hens sleep outside

Hey there, So we read somewhere that for three days, when introducing a new coop, you have to keep them in there for three days so they don't try to escape and recognize that it is a safe, homey environment for their protection. I'm not sure how big your coop is or how many chickens you have...

    Coop fire. Help please.

It was either a headlamp secured with a hook on the cord or the heated waterer.I really think it was the waterer. It was hanging as well, but when it was burning that was where the hole the chicken escaped from was.

    calling any one from missouri

cdonze43, I look at a website called chickenchick.com She says just use apple cider vinegar. Way better than bleach. She said she does it commonly. She also says she uses sand and sifts daily. I really need to switch to sand. It would be cleaner and cheaper.

Gilmore, I thought everyone else was getting mostly pullets. I talked with a neighbor's niece and she bought her chickens from stores as well and she got 6 pullets and one roo out of it. Only having to part with one that you hand raised from a chick is great. We got rid of roosters named...
