Thanks for all the response. Originally, I wanted a hen, but now I'm considering to keep that EE rooster and maybe try to breed him with my Black Copper Marans. Hopefully, I'll get olive eggers. I never tried to breed before. Is this a good idea? W hat you guys think

Short day light may be the main reason. Hens need at least fourteen hours of day light otherwise they'll lay very few or won't lay at all. Try to add an light bulb on a timer during the winter, say from 4:00 AM to 7:00 AM see what happen. I had the same problem with my new BCM and three weeks...
