Pros: Lasts A Long Time
Cons: Bottom Falls Off
I really like this feeder. I bought this to use for my chicks. I ended up using it up until they were about three months old. Then I got a bigger feeder. When they went into lay, I used this as on oyster shell feeder. I am actually surprised how long it lasts. It was only about $5 so I wasn't expecting it to last very long. Mine is about 2 years old and still in use. The only problem I have with it is sometimes after I fill it, the bottom falls off. After about the third or fourth time this has happened, I started to get annoyed. But overall, this is a very good feeder.
Pros: Lots of information, many pictures, great ideas
Cons: n/a
When my flock turned my yard into dirt and ate all of my plants, I decided I needed to do something creative with it (now that I am working with a clean slate). I ordered this book online and read it cover to cover. This book is awesome. It has so many great ideas and a ton of wonderful pictures. This book is full of information on coops, plants, a chicken's natural diet, and chickens themselves. It has lists of plant types to help you find some that fit your needs (shelter plants, forage plants, chicken resistant plants, etc.). I cant wait until spring so I can get started making my very own "free range chicken garden."
Pros: Houses Chickens
Cons: Too Many To List
This coop is terrible. Build your own coop, you will be much happier.
- not weather proof
- coop is small
- run is tiny
- roof rotted out
- falls apart after one winter
- latches rust in less than a month
- etc.

P.S. It doesn't hold 5 chickens. More like 2.
Pros: Great layer, beautiful feathers
Cons: None
I love my Australorp, Poppy. She lays me an egg every day and is very pretty to look at. She can be a bit loud at times and loves to "argue" with some of her flock mates. I don't really mind it. I think it is quite funny, actually. Dont tell my other girls but Poppy is my favorite hen in the flock. If I could, I would get more of these chickens!
Pros: prevents ice
Cons: hard to fill
It prevents ice like it's supposed to. It's a little hard to fill. I've never used the plug at the bottom, I've just screwed off the base and filled it that way. Sometimes when I screw it back on and pick it up, the base falls off and water is everywhere. I only have 5 chickens so it holds enough water to last them a week. Overall I'm pretty happy with the product.
I go this book for my birthday before I started my first flock. This book is full of information on how to raise chicks, feeding and watering, first aid and diseases, and even processing a chicken. I definitely recommend this book.
