    Help with Detached air cells

I just candled the eggs and 1 out of the three has a stable air cell while the rest are still wobbly. 1 of the wobbly ones is showing growth. Is it ok if the air cell goes on top of the developing embryo when I turn the egg?

    Help with Detached air cells

I put them in plastic trays that are as tall as the eggs so there's no chance of them falling.

    Help with Detached air cells

I have the option of electronically turning the eggs, but I don't. I find it better to hand turn. They all are shaped fine, one of them is quite small though. I have the Silkie hen in her broody coop and she's been my best hatcher and she's been broody for several months and is determined as...

    Incubating eggs at 60%-65% humidity?

Can I incubate eggs at 60%-65% humidity? I've been having trouble with my hatcher so every time I put eggs in there to hatch, they die. I put eggs in every week in my GQF incubator. Will it hurt the eggs that are incubating by hatching other eggs in with them at a higher humidity? Thanks

Keep getting blood rings in my duck eggs

I've got a GQF Sportsman incubator. I use it only for incubating, not hatching so I haven't fumigated it till the beginning of the hatching season. I keep getting blood rings in my eggs though. I recently had a duckling die a couple days before lockdown. When the incubator turns, the two trays...

    Pine shavings for baby chicks

Do any of you think that pine shavings could be used as chick bedding? If so, should I get the small, fine pieces or the big, long pieces? Thanks

What to do with breeding pens during the winter

What do y'all do with your breeding pens in the winter and rainy weather if you keep your chickens in them throughout the entire year? I don't want rain to get in their pens and I don't want the chickens to get to cold.

How many calls per breeding pen do you recommend?

I'm about to build some breeding pens for my calls but idk how many ducks I should have per pen. I was thinking 8 (5 females, 3 males) but was thinking that the ratio would create fertility problems. Any suggestions? Thanks :P
