    This is my first year with BBS Orps, and I have to say, their good temperament blows me away. My cockerel is so mild mannered and takes such good care of his girls. Do all of you find them to be the same, or did I just luck out? :-)

    At this stage in the game, it would be much easier to buy BLRW from a reputable breeder that already has the correct color and type. Check out Foley's Waterfowl online. That will give you info on the history of the BLRW as well as show you pictures of what BLR should look like today.

    Adding to above conversations: Does anyone know which bantam breeds have been used in some lavender AM breeding programs? I have two Lav. Ams and they are smaller than my other birds, but even have different body types from each other.

    Looking at the feathering pattern and face, I would lean toward Roo... However, I am no expert and this is my first year raising BLR Wyandottes.
