After someone clipped her wings, the wrong way might I add, one of our ducks has been acting weird. She’s been laying down all day and she hasn’t been as active as usual, and won’t move her wings.
I don’t know if these two things correlate (the wings and the behavior), but I know they both...
One of my chickens passed away today. Since ive been really distracted lately I never noticed anything wrong with her. She ate normally and drank water. For the past two days she didnt lay any eggs, but she would stand in the nesting box with another chicken. She’s an Easter egger and she’s one...
I was outside replacing our ducks water, when I saw Daffy (my female duck) trying to mount the drake. I’m so confused. I’ve heard of females mounting other females, but never this! What’s going on? Should I be worried?
I also have pictures of either of them just to make sure I have the genders...
My daughter found a baby bird in our yard, there’s three in our garden, they don’t have a mother bird, and I’m curious to what it is.
it can’t fly, and when we go near it, it runs around to escape us, and tries to jump and fly.
this is the only way to get a picture or it will escape, so I can’t...
There’s swelling in the upper leg. I would post a video of her walking, but I’m not currently at home so I cannot do so. Also, any time she lays down she lays on her side. Specifically the side without a broken leg. When she walks, it’s more of limping or hobbling and when she’s standing still...
I think my duckling might’ve broke or dislocated her leg. She isn’t acting like she’s in too much distress though except sometimes she’ll peep a bit louder and she stomps around a lot and won’t lay down unless I’m holding her. Here are some pictures. If it’s broken, what do I do? I don’t think...
We recently bought two ducklings for the first time, so I’m new to duck keeping.
I’m not sure if it’s just me but these ducklings look overheated. Are they too hot? And if so how can I cool them down? I tried moving the brooder further from the heat lamp, but they’re still acting like this...
She’s about 8 months I believe. I’m not sure exactly how long she’s been laying, but I think she started around 19 weeks. The shell is not thin either. I did not see her peck the hole, but the hole is always perfectly round so it must be her beak.
You know you’re part of the flock when you get treats from your pullets. Edit: rooster challenges me, then proceeds to mount my arm. Either I’m part of the flock or he’s bipolar, lol.
