My chickens have seemed to really like the baths and hair dryer. I don't know if it's a "deer in the headlights" thing or if they truly like it. But no fights and they settle right down.
@Hinotori , Do you eat the silkies and if so, how do you cook them? I roasted one of our roos (during the whole "roo debacle") and it turned out so weird we couldn't bring ourselves to eat it.
Hello Cluckatar! Unfortunately my personal experience leads me to believe it will be very difficult for you to find a forever home for him. I had five roos (all silkies) and I posted everywhere. I even found a home for one, but she returned him. I had to cull all of them. Not a fun time.
The fireworks by me were out of control! It was like WW3. But our chickens were fine because we do a lot of woodwork in the backyard, and they have gotten really used to extremely loud noises.
Does anyone around the Kitsap or Puyallup areas know of straw or hay that is cheap? Straw bales at the stores by me are $10+ a bale. That seems really expensive to me, but maybe it's normal.
I could, but I’d have to be very conscious about watering. Sage would be easy to just plant and let it go. Other plants though are harder to take root in soil, so if this works, I’d be a happy girl.
