there are two chocolate dilutes... fawn/dun and choc-...
fawn breeds just like blue... fawn to black makes black and fawn, fawn to fawn makes black fawn and khaki (splash)... fawn keeps getting lighter and lighter chocolate... ends up looking like coffee color if you keep diluting...

Any SouthEasterners want to chime in? I am a Southern CA native born here and never left, I know nothing of East Coast humidity... or snow, or rain....or freezing temperatures.... I'm pretty much a wuss. LOL.
It's down to 44% this am, and 99.7. I hope it will just stay that way. Not...
Sorry if this its a repeat post but didn't see where the first one posted.
Normal ambient humidity in my house is around 45%. Using auto turner for the LF but will probably hand turn the seramas. Yes, fat end up.

You'll do great! Did you ever get down to Grady's?
Not yet. Have get another pen set up first lol. I put the white leghorns in the pen I had the seramas in.
Hey, is 57% humidity ok?
I just set my very first batch of eggs in the incubator, so hopefully they will hatch. Leghorns and wyandottes. If this goes well I may try to see if I can get done nice serama eggs. Wish me luck!

Yeah, I have NO clue about much of anything yet. Hoping to pick up some tips on how to keep and train the ones I want to show.
Be sure to share what you learn!

I am hoping to go also. Doubt I'll have anything to take that quickly unless I buy a youngster to raise up and show, but I'd love to go and see all the birds and learn how it all works.

I just love them. Can't wait to get going with them and start my own breeding programs!
That's part of the fun of it. Starting small (for me) and working my way up. In a few years I can look back to where I started and be proud of my accomplishments.

I saw that, but now that I have an incubator I can bid on eggs!!!

I have LF right now. Starting over with Seramas, but don't have any right now. Figure I may as well practice with what I have LOL.
Hopefully I'll have my own Seramas laying eggs soon!

wut...??
i've never read that, but it could be true... good thing my turner has dampeners for vibration... the racks are on yarn... LOL... next hatch, i'm using a brinsea... i got it used, and the person i got it from had 100% hatch rate with serama eggs...
Cool! I had thought about...
I've read that several folks think they turn too much for the Serama eggs??? Seems like most of what I've read, people prefer to turn by hand??? Something about the vibration of the turner maybe reducing hatch rate??? Something along those lines.
