Picture time........
Khaki Campbells from COF. Now, are these all girls ? Or are the two with the darker heads going to be boys. They hatched end of March, I think. ( I have given up on keeping track ) The little ones are call ducks from Mary Langdon.
These are 2 girls from...
It is not just you... I have been having poor hatches. So have quite a few others. Not sure what the heck is going on. I used to be able to hatch a rock..
I have taken apart my bators, cleaned them, checked..re checked and checked again. I have decent hatches on my own eggs and some...
My incubators are FULL !!!! I have 4 dozen eggs sitting in my office waiting for space. I have a bunch locking down tomorrow. And I have one more back up incubator on standby but waiting on some shipped eggs so I refuse to start it up yet.
I just boil mine up too. Break them in half and bring them out...even the chicks go crazy when they see me with the chicken bucket. They eat everything including the shell, you would think they were staved to death.
I have both crested and non-crested. Roosters and hens. Some have huge crests some smaller. Only a few have hatched with the vaulted skull. Most just poof up as they get older.
I know.. I KNOW, I need to get and post better pictures. That is always last on my list of things to do.
Tonight is lock down om my MW eggs. So naturally 1 hatched and one pipped and one almost fully zipped in the turner.
I didn't even candle the rest...just tossed them (gently) into the hatcher....since the bator is borrowed from a friend with one stipulation ...no hatching in it...
Me too ! Second thread I look at every morning, right after I check the swap thread.
Trying not to swap.... I really need to shut down for a bit and grow some chicks out !!!
Sorry for your loss. I just put my tiny Chihuahua down on Friday with CHF. Had to put my horse down in Feb, and my cat died suddenly on Christmas morning. I have had enough heartbreak for this year. Now I have a dang fox, eating my Guineas one by one.
