My littlest chick was the most adventurest on their outdoor outing for the first time today! She is 6 weeks and still so tiny. Big chickens those little silkies and bantams, they kept together in a tight group and didn't explore much.
I'm in medford and just got mine last week from the Grange all are doing well so far. A young lady I know with disabilities works at the Central Point Grange caring for chicks in the mornings so I like to give them my business
But Craigslist is a good idea too. I've been looking for silkies...

CC85- welcome! I too am new to the chicken thing (had some as a kid, and this site (just graduated from New Egg status) ;) I'm in CP. Getting my chick order from Grange in two weeks can't hardly wait! Having lots of fun learning everything on this site. Good luck to you :D
Great! I don't care much about breeds just starting our first flock in June after we move to our new property. Just want some layers and some friendly ones the kids can call by name ;)
Thanks, I am on the list at the Grange if they can get extra but doesn't look promising. I checked Ideals website but that's a long way to ship and I only need about 6 keets, doesn't that traumatize them? I really wish I could find someone in Southern Oregon or NorCal no lower than Weed area...
