Hello Everyone,
I know it's a long shot. But I have a couple of handsome young fellas that need a home. One of our broodies hatched them on May 17th. They are sussex from eggs from Muddyhorse here on BYC. I have a tested flock and she is NPIP.
I will also have a Golden Laced Cochin boy...
I try not to leave too much in the summer. Too crazy and expensive. If there was one in the fall, I would go.
Betty, the avatar and best chicken buddy, came from keesmom at the Westford swap a couple of years ago. She's great. Head hen, always happy to see me, friendly broody and nurturing mom.
That's very nice. Ours is of a similar design. Just a little more......less perfect. It's like the ghetto version of your lovely coop.
That said, the design works great for us. We have put a perch in the corner over the ramp for some of the girls lower on the totem pole to escape to if need be.
This should be a little better link. It has the spring and the summer show dates on the same page.
Spring May 5th
Summer August 4th

There's also the Northeastern Avicultural Society swap they have once a month in Westford. The next one...
Hello Everyone
We hatched out some eggs recently and we came up with 2 roos. Any takers on a LF blue cochin or an Easter Egger. The cochin is adorable with his beautiful pantaloons. I just can't keep them with the neighbors so close. They are about 4 weeks old and broody raise so used to...

There are six towns on the island. Mine does not have an ACO. I am pro having one btw. The rest do. Last year they somehow skipped the farm census. No one I know recieved a visit. This year, I found out today, they have just last week hired the assistant ACO from the next town over to...
Our town got rid of it's ACO a few years ago as a budget cutting measure . I try not to annoy my neighbors as a courtesy. No one on the town level realy cares as far as I know. But, I also watch out for runamuck dogs and had to put a fence up to protect the girls.
Each town is supposed to have a municipal animal inspector and do a census of animals in their town. Some take it more seriously than others.
Here is a list of all the towns and their animal inspectors:

Hey there
There are a lot of people on the Cape with chickens. When you are ready try Craigslist. I see lots available in the cape and island section all the time. We have someone who watches our chickens. Petsitters are easily trained. Chickens are pretty easy. It's not like having...
The man who does the npip tests from MDAR. I don't know what his official title is. Poultry Test Guy maybe? We don't have a county program that I know of.
In most cases you would call them in the spring and they would come out within a few days. But, everything has to be a little different over...
