    Update on my baby chicks.

    Will they are almost 2 months old now, so i thought i would put up so more pics. The black one i have. It is turning out to be i good looking bird. And i think he is a rooster. My little rooster likes to sleep in the trees, He is always in the same spot.

    I think i have RIRs well atleast 3 of them are but i have a black one that has white spots on it. I got the eggs from my uncle, and the pin i got the eggs from had RIRs and white leghons, so i dont know where this black chick came from but i like it. this is the black one that i am talking...

    My RIR laid her first egg.........

    I went out to the coop and i noticed that she was going to the coop, so i came back later and she did lay a egg. I noticed that it had alittle blood on it is that noraml for that to happen. She is acting fine.

    Baby chicks made it through IKE...... New PICS.........

    They hacthed, They made it through IKE... we had no power for 8 days but ran a generator all day and shut it off at night. They started hatching on day 23, i thought it would have taken longer. but there here. 13 eggs and i have 6 chicks right now, we will wait and see if anymore come out.

    I need someone to help with my incubator, i have a hova-bator 1602n, it is a thermal air flow model. I tried hatching some eggs but no chicks. My frist question is how do you get the humidity to go up, i filled up the two areas that it says to fill up. I got nothing it stayed at 38%-40% and...

    DAY 22....

    Ok its day 22 for my chicks and there is nothing going on in the inubator. There is no pips, none of the eggs have moved. So ho long should i wait before moving them out. thanks brian

    About Broody????

    I am on day 20 with my eggs in the incubater and i am getting my broody ready what is a good temp for them to be in. I am sitting at about 95-97 right now.

    Day 10........

    OK it is day 10 for my little chicks, I candled all 24 eggs and i can see babes in 23 of them. There is one that i can not see but i am going to live it in there until the end or if it starts to smell.

    candling my eggs!

    OK its day 5 and i candled my eggs and i saw the red veins, but i could not see anything in the brown eggs. Can you see the veins in brown eggs? Brian.

    Ok i got a incubater last night from my uncle, and i have it running. The humidity is holding about 45% and the digital thermometer is reading 102.2- 101.7, and the thermometer that came with the bator that sits on top of the eggs is reading 98.     Ok i have a hen that is laying eggs i was taking them but now i am leaving them there to see if i can get them to hatch. But she is about 2 yrs old, is she to old to be sitting. There is 7 eggs in her nest right now how many will she lay before sitting on them.

    My chicken......

    My chicken is now laying her eggs outside but they are under the chicken coop. She was laying them in the coop but today i found them outside on the ground. Why did she stop going to the coop to lay them?
