Well, where to begin?
I have 3 y/o, 110-ish pound, female Great Pyrenees, Wilson, that has never caused any trouble. Her only faults have been that she's a little too hyper sometimes, she jumps, scratches and play bites and when I tell her to stop she doesn't listen a lot of the time. she likes...

Of course I'll always listen to other varieties!
Preferably near Morristown or Bean Station Tennessee but I'll drive for a good deal
I'm on a bit of a budget, like...
I've been at 4-H Round Up all week (it was awesome by the way!!! ) and got home thirty minutes ago. Tomorrow at 8:00 am I have a 4-H chick chain show and sale that I'll be in, and I wondering if it would be better to wash the 6 birds now or not wash them.
I usually wash my birds 2-3 days prior...

Ok, I have an batch of 6 eggs, I usually send extras but I'm not going to be able to now because I need these sent off tomorrow!

I've been gone for about a week, and had someone watching the chickens, so I was not able to ship out any eggs and they've been piling up! right now I have 17 eggs from my birchen Cochin pen and 1 out of my black smooth/frizzle Cochin pen. there are a few catches; the person who was watching...
this will include:
* Six from a pen with a show potential Birchen Cochin rooster, a BQ birchen Cochin hen, and a PQ Splash Cochin hen that has been away from the mixed roosters a week. you can expect about 1/2 the eggs to be pure birchens, 1/4 to be pure blue Cochins, carrying the birchen gene...
Hi! I recently bought a couple BEAUTIFUL, show potential, bantam Cochins, but 2/4 of the roosters have spurs that are dead
one has small black spurs that are still hanging on also with scaly leg mite that I'm treating and the other just has a black spot where they used to be.
could this be...
So far I have-

I have discovered that the expensive Cochins I bought recently has an egg eater in the bunch.
So far all I've done is put a whole bunch of fake eggs in there to attempt to fool them, but what I'm wondering is there something I can put an egg that will taste just bad enough to them for them to...
should I keep?
#1- this one was my initial pick but I'm not sure. he has the best coloring and probably the best cushion, but his comb is a mess. (he stands the same as the other, he was trying to be tall in the picture)
#2- this one's color isn't quite as good, his cushion is good, and his...
I found this today and I'm finding it pretty interesting!
lets see if I can explain this simply and correctly:
in birds, the female controls the offspring's gender (ZW)instead of the male in humans (XY)
the female basically has all the necessary information to be male(Z), but is is overridden...
I feel silly asking this, being around the gene so long, but is Andalusian blue incomplete dominant or codominant? I've been researching it and found both. I know all about the percentages of BBS and everything.
I'm doing a report on genetics and i thought I'd use what I'm familiar with...
this graph is a rough draft I made to convince my family that, in the long run, it is more cost effective to keep the best quality birds, as opposed to slightly less. (is this true?) I wasn't able to acquire all data so a lot is just a guess so I'm wanting to know what you would change!
PS-...
on the Knoxville craigslist there is an add for game roosters that states The males of this flock are good fighting roosters.
(which I can assume is coming from experience) and it made me quite angry so I sent them this message---
I would like to inform you that fighting roosters "cock...
Ok, I have a few questions about bantam Show quality Cochins
#1-How much should I expect to pay for a hen of very nice quality that conforms to the standard?
#2-How much would you estimate feeding would cost a year per hen?
#3-How many eggs would you expect each hen to lay per year?
#4-What...
We've had this record player for a really long time and the needle is so dull it won't play a thing, but the turntable works fine, so today I decided I would fix it by all means necessary!
Well I quickly diagnosed there was no helping the poor needle so I took a sheet of printer paper, rolled...
I just traded 6 roosters for an incubator!!
which I already have and do not remotely need, but It was a good deal!
I does not, however, come with a turner. so were going to make one (this should be interesting ) what if we find a slow motor that turns them a little bit too many times a day...
please. And be honest! I know there are some fine Polish breeder out there!
would you consider these breeder, show, or pet quality?
and don't worry about hurting my feelings, I can handle it!
Well, My friend and I are having a "disagreement"
You see he says that buff Orpingtons take 28-29 days to incubate, and I just can't fathom that! Is there any reason that they shouldn't hatch in 21 days?
