I have been reading alot on this issue and I am so confused. They way I read this we would be asking one group or another to regulate the farmers. Why do we need anyone to regulate the farmer? Regardless of what they try to acomplish there will be some farmers not follow the regulation.
My 1 year old cochin is laying eggs that have blood red yolks. I am not kinding. My DH called me at work today wanting to know what was going on. I saw them when I went home for lunch. I thought maybe he was crazy but they are "blood red". We free range the girls all day everyday. None of...
I would like to see pictures of your hen molting. I think that is what mine are doing but want to make sure. My eggs have decreased the last couple of weeks. Two of my older hens are loosing feathers. I know I do not have mites or lice.
I think the head dress is interfearing with her eyesight. I do not plan on showing her, I just want to provide her with good sight. She sometimes runs into the fence. If I throw food out it is like she does not see it. If I can trim the crest around her eyes how do I do it?
MY DS has a hen that went broody over the weekend. He wants to let her hatch the eggs. Do we just let her sit on the eggs and wait? Or do we do something else?
She is in with all the other hens. Should we move her by herself?
I have been using a rain barrel to collect water for my chickens. What can I put in the barrel to avoid a mosquitos problem? Bleach, vinager or other suggestions?

I resently purchased some Amberlinks and was interested in experiences that you may have had with them. What are their temperments? How well do they lay and how do they handle the cold weather? Mt. Healthy sells them.
My older hen got a hold of my 5 week old polish this morning and pecked him. He has visable wounds. How do I treat the area? He is eating and drinking. I gave him electrolytes in his water. What else can I do to help him get better?
Will his feathers grow back? They managed to remove on...
