Is this bumblefoot or something else?

I'm still fairly new to backyard chickens. I just recently added a friends 6 chickens to my flock of 2, since I have lost 4 other birds to a hawk attack and my neighbor's dog. My birds have always been healthy, so when I saw this on one of the new birds I got a week ago, I wasn't sure what it...

    Getting Impatient!!

I'm getting a little impatient with my girls!!! They are 21 weeks old, buff orps and EEs, and I wanna see eggs!!!!! Up north where I'm from, there isn't a lot of daylight, so I rigged up a 60 watt bulb in the coop to give them more "light" to see if it kicks them into gear. I know it can take...

Are my EE's getting close to laying an egg??

I have 2 EE's that are about 19 weeks old. In the last day or so, I have noticed that they are digging around in the dirt more and laying there. They aren't doing the dust bath stuff, just cozying up, sometimes next to eachother and laying in the holes they seem to make in the yard near the...

Hey everyone! This is my chicken Fluffy. I can't tell if this is going to be a boy or a girl. The rest of my chickens have a much thinner comb, but from what I have read, a rooster would have more then one row?? Can anyone help? Thanks!!

Trouble adding to my "list" of chickens.

I'm keep getting an error message when I try to add other chickens I have to my list. I have my Ameruacana's, but it won't let me add my Orpington's....so confused. Anyone know how to fix it? I run on internet explorer, and I also tried opening up google chrome, but no luck.

    New to the chicken thing!

I'm really new to raising chickens. My four ladies are about 3 months old and have been living outside in their coop for about a month and a half now. I have a fenced back yard, but I'm leary about letting them run around outside of their own fenced in coop. Would it be better to fence in a...
