    Blood in nest and on eggs. Hens have been laying for months...please help!

    A couple days ago, one of our eggs had blood on the shell and there was blood all over the walls in the nest box. I checked the vent on all the chickens, and they all seem fine. They're all eating well and acting normal. But the next day there was another bloody egg. What could be causing this?

    Weak shells - the cold or calcium deficiency?

    I switched my laying hens to grower feed because I now have a mixed age flock. I put out oyster shells also. The last week or so, it seems the eggs shells are very week- could that be because of the cold, or should I worry that thy aren't getting enough calcium?

    My BOs are 11 weeks, and just this morning I noticed this particular one's tail is a completely different angle and shape than the rest. I've heard you can't go by comb size with this breed. I ordered all girls from the hatchery, but I know they can get it wrong. Opinions? TIA.
