    Still laying over here!

    Anyone else have chickens who are 8-9 years old still laying?! I have 5 girls (leghorn and 4 bantams) from my original flock that are still healthy and very active! Yesterday there were 3 eggs!

    Eye shut closed!

    Hey everyone! Went out to the coop this morning and noticed one of my Australorps eye was closed?? She seems totally fine, except she does have a messy/poopy bum right now? Otherwise she's active, eating and drinking. Think she's ok, or should I take her in? Id appreciate any feedback! Thank you!

    CoyWolf in my yard!

    Spotted a coy wolf earlier in my front yard! Didn't even know these were around here. Luckily my ladies were in and not free ranging today! I spotted him just before dusk. Anyone else seen these beautiful but scary wolves?

    Outside run MUD!

    So what does everyone use for their outside runs? I currently out mulch down a few times a year and it keeps it dry. I saw this sand called "play sand" I have heard of using this. Is this the wrong stuff?

    Pesky raccoon!

    I have a secure coop for my birds and a bunny in a secure hutch...but will a raccoon eat a bunny? You think they could unlock latch in coop? Ahhhh I hate this! Always worrying about my babies!

    Yolky eggs!?

    This past week I've noticed yolk looking liquid on some of the eggs...does this mean a shell less? It's hard tho...my girls are molting right now too.

    Is it too early for molting? I can see new feathers growing in and they're all acting normal.
