She/he is close to 4 weeks old and has a reddish comb and stout little legs! Plus, I saw him watching over all of the other pullets while they were sleeping. What do you think, is this a roo?
Did anyone else catch this on Saturday night live??? You know that Urban chicken keeping has gone mainstream when Saturday night live pokes fun at it!!!!

I laughed my butt off!!!!
I meant "Banty or Bantam" but I can't edit the title......:/
I wish I had a better picture, but I don't, she is not mine and these are the pictures my friend texted to me. This banty has a beard, I did not see muffs, she is crested, and has feathered legs. I did not get to see her tail shape...
I am downsizing my chicken flock, I have way to many hens producing way more eggs than I can eat, and I don't like the hassle of selling eggs. I am selling 15 pullets (young hens under one year old) who are 10 months old and laying eggs daily. I have 3 Silver Laced Wyandottes, 2 Speckled Sussex...
Greetings and Merry Christmas! We had an exciting morning up here on the mountain. Our daughter called to me from her room and said "There's a dog outside the fence checking out the ducks", I ran into her room and looked out her window and saw that is was a small mangy coyote. Our 3 ducks were...
This critter was on our property last year.
The game department was very interested in him and studied him. They determined exactly what he is. Can you tell what he is?
I'll write the game departments determination in a few days.....Have fun!
I have a lot of magpies and crows (usually not at the same time) that visit our property.
I am wondering if Magpies chase hawks and or owls away like the crows do?
Boy did this freak me out!
My husband calls me outside to ask if I am missing any chickens with black wings. As I am walking to him I am counting chickens...

Last night the rain was pouring down in buckets, and it was pretty cold out. Our driveway gate had been left open when one of my friends had gone home. I have 3 ducks whom come and go as they please, they have a coop and pen, but it is open. But, what I didn't know was that my auto door to...
My neighbor is an older farm lady who has never paid any attention to what breed of chickens she has. She never has to buy chickens, people just give them to her. Today, I was over at her house and she told me she acquired 6 new hens from the animal shelter. I looked them over and spouted off...
I've been searching for the answer to this question but have not found an answer so thought I would just ask.
I have an incubator with an air circulating fan (farm innovators). Last time I hatched out chicks, I left the fan on during lockdown and hatch. Was I suppose to unplug the fan during...
I have a variety pack of breeds all at or around Point of lay. The reason I started this thread is because when I was waiting for my first eggs, I didn't just want to know when other people's pullets started laying eggs, I also wanted to know what hatcheries they came from. So, I thought I...
I have a 5 month old Cream Legbar pullet who I have heard sing the egg song in the past few weeks but have never seen an egg from her. This morning, for the first time I saw the Legbar Rooster breed with her. Do they usually start laying eggs before a rooster starts breeding them or after the...
This is one of my 4 month old pullets. She is suppose to be a Cream Legbar, the lady who gave her to me "said" she hatched her out from a Cream Legbar hen egg, but I am wondering if another rooster got a hold of her mama besides the CLB roosters she has. She does not look 100% CLB to me. Or if...
3.5 month old Easter Eggers. I bought 11 of them, and suspect 4 are cockerels. Please let me know what you think. I'll post again tomorrow with the last suspect.
Whitey:

I am so sorry to create a sponge emergency, and I realize that my lack of planning is not your emergency.
Wow, Day 18 snuck up on me! I cannot find any info on type of sponge to use during lockdown. Is it OK to use a scotch brite? Do I need to wash it first? It is new in the package but...
This is a 4 week Lavender Orpington with a 3 week old Black Orpington. I am positive the Black is a pullet, she was the only one hatched out of 42 eggs, survived a broken incubator, faulty thermometers and nearly drowned the day she hatched. She climbed into the cup of water used for humidity...
