HELP
There was a gang up on one cockerel in my rooster pen. They were stomping on him. Now he can't walk. I have him in a box with bedding to prop him up. He has water and food at head height. He seems happy to eat and drink. He even had some greens and grass seed when I offered him. Seems...
I have a 12 week old chick that gasps for air. Though the strange thing is the apparently involuntary but intermittent squawk that goes with it. Any advice?
I brought home 8 week old Plymouth Rock chicks. Was supposed to be a roo and 3 pullets. Of course we ended up with 2 roos. One I named Patrick. Patrick got a tick near his eye and went slightly lame. Coincidence???? Not sure. He has gotten progressively better, and only looks a little ungainly...
I have a group of chicks with Araucanas and Orpingtons that I suspect have coccidiosis. Some just gasp and others have a cough/sneeze, runny eyes, and there are some with blood in their faeces. I have them quarantined. All other groups of chicks and adult birds are so far ok. I sent my husband...
I was recently on a hatchery site, where the breeder was saying chickens don't make as good a pet as a cat or dog. He hasn't met Fancy. My silver coronation Sussex follows me and begs to be picked up. Which is a better idea anyway, because if I stand still she is often on my foot. :D
I have salmon and blue faverolles hatching out. 3 are yellow, but one is striped??? I bought the eggs from a reputable and registered breeder.
Any ideas???:hu
He is the one still wet. At first I thought he was a blue. Now I'm not sure...

Seems like I was in ignorant bliss. Have been hatching with my incubator janoel 24 and have temp set to factory setting of 37.8 C I bought a CHEAP hygrometer that has a thermometer too. The humidity says 49%, and temp 34 C now I am worried. What should I believe? Incubator or thermometer? HELP...
How long should a first time broody sit before you give her real eggs to sit on? Henrietta is a white Wyandotte and was sitting on six plastic eggs, plus one of hers. I swapped plastic eggs for a selection of everyone else in the flock. She has eight real eggs now, and is still on them today...
I have read the BPR roos are mean and that in general the breed is standoffish. I have four chicks from a breeder, and I must say they are all so cheeky and self confident. They fly up and perch on or near me as I stand at my juvenile cage. As soon as I open up the lid of their suspended cage...
