I bought my babies in December, and one of my Plymoth Rocks has turned out to be a Rooster. He is a sweetie, but the past day or so he has been...well you know with one hen in particular. I do not want baby chicks, it is too hot in the summers and well, I don't have enough room. My neighbor...
Could this be caused from antibiotics? She was eating yesterday and drinking, separated her from flock 2 days ago because of odd behavior. Been hand feeding her some grapes when she will eat, and hand dripping her water with antibiotic. Her comb still looks nice and red, but she doesn't talk...
Posted earlier and when I checked for lice I noticed she sounded congested in her chest area. Is there anything I can do? Please look at my earlier thread where I answered all the diagnosis questions. Thank You!
1) What type of bird , age and weight.
Delaware Hen, 14 months, 3-4 lbs
2) What is the behavior, exactly.
She's not as active as the other hens, for instance when I let them out of their coop in the mornings they all (5 total) run together to a certain area in our backyard (2acres) everyday...
One of my hens has been acting strange the past few days. She refuses to leave the box that she likes to lay her eggs in. I take her out into the run to make sure she eats and drinks, but after about 10-15 min she will return to her box. She seems healthy, she's able to walk, eat and drink...
My feather babies are at 27 weeks, and are not laying eggs what so ever. Is it because of the weather? I got them in June when they were babies, and now they are happy hens However, no eggs! I live in North TX and the weather here is kind of strange. I've put heat lamps in their coop at...

My babies are just about ready for their new coop and I would like to introduce these new...
We are in the process of building our coop! Yeah! However, we don't know whether or not to put the nesting boxes on the floor of the house (which is elevated 2 ft from the ground) or elevated from the the floor. Thanks for the advice!
Got our new chix and one of my Delawares has a muddy bottom. Should I be concerned? It seems that she is unable to completey 'complete'. Should I seperate her from the rest? They're only a couple of weeks old, very small.
thank you in advance!
Hello,
I'm a newbie to raising chicks and was wondering what might be the best breed to raise here in N. TX. I would like to have 6 feather babies and would love to have fresh eggs. So if there are any pointers that anyone could give that would be great! Also where would be the best place to...
