Meet the Dong Feng 21D "Carrier Killer" missile.
Carrier-killing missiles "could have an enduring psychological effect on U.S. policymakers," he e-mailed to The AP. "It underscores more broadly that the U.S. Navy no longer rules the waves as it has since the end of World War II. The stark...
Every FREAKIN year they 'adjust' our insurance coverage at my work. Right now, to cover my wife and me, it's costing $153.13/paycheck and that's only half the premium. The company pays the other half.. If you do the math, that means the total premium is $663.56 to cover TWO PEOPLE...
...is it a BLATANT RIP OFF of several Nirvana songs, including "Stay Away" from their '91 album Nevermind?? Everytime I hear "Between the Lines," it makes me wish even more that Cobain was still around....if only to beat the crap out of Scott Weiland.
Just wondered if any of y'all hunt with a crossbow, and how you like it....or not, if that's the case. I currently hunt early and late muzzleload, plus modern gun seasons. I'm interested in archery, but I'm not big on tracking wounded deer. Found five guys doing that on my farm just this past...
...but not for lack of opportunity.
In the 7 days I spent in the woods, I saw easily upward of 100 deer and could have taken more shots than I can even recall. The more memorable opportunities were the two bucks that walked directly in front of me at about 15yds...but one was a spike, and the...
Sitting in the living room last night, watching TV...about 11:15pm. Our LGD starts barking. At first, it's just kind of a normal bark, but then it changed and became much more...acute? I dunno the word, but I knew immediately that he was MAD.
Went out the front door with one of my border...
Folks, you could have knocked me over with a feather. We went down to the barn last night to take care of all of the animals and I said to my wife -- and I quote -- "I'm gonna go check the nestboxes... See if anybody got over their case of the stupids."
I hoped the lid and almost passed out...
I started taking vitamins again not that long ago.. We keep goats, and I spent quite a bit of time looking through different loose mineral mixes trying to find one that would be best for my herd.. Ok, I practically obsessed over it for a while. My wife and I were talking about the goat...
GRRRRRRRRRR
I could spit NAILS right now, but...question first: Does anybody know the dog dosage for regular ol' horse Red Cell? This dog's bad anemic and needs a perk up really soon. Like, right now. I don't have any canine Red Cell and the dog will almost certainly be dead before we...
Ok, so our coop is built into a barn stall. The pop door opens to the outside of the barn into a little 'run' I set up with polystrand electric fence. They walk or fly straight through or over it pretty much anytime they want.. Like, 0% effective.
I put it up with the hopes that they'd sorta...
So, I went out to shut the pop door around dusk last night.. I glanced down in the grass by the ramp and there it was.. Took me a second to process what I was looking at, but sure enough...it was a pretty brown egg, and a big'un at that. Good sturdy shell, too.
We snapped a few pictures...
I saw one of our border collies sniffing around in the front yard, doing the thing where they eeeeease their nose to the ground and then JERK their head back really quick when whatever has their interest makes a move..
I thought it might be a snake, so I went over with a spotlight and looked...
Not sure how I'm going to make it home tonight.. One of the main roads to my house is reportedly closed due to some serious wind damage...even if it's open, a neighbor said there's a big oak down between that road and my house. So, that's out.
The other main road is reportedly under water...
Yeah.. So, we're walking down to the barn late last night to throw a little hay to the goats.. My wife goes in the barn first with the lantern and says "Uh oh.." I can't see in there, so I'm like "what!??" She says "Why is the coop door open?"
My first thought was...that's it...they're all...
...introduce the new feed slowly by mixing it in with the old feed, or does it really matter very much with chickens? I'm used to dealing with dogs and goats where it very much does matter...switch a dog or goat's feed too quickly and they'll get GI upsets..
Also, at what age should I switch...
Chickens have been in the coop for some time now, but I only got around to doing the pop door and setting up the roosts the past weekend.
They won't use either... They walk over to the door, peer nervously outside, then RUN back to the corner squawking and flapping..
They bed down under...
So, I basically had to hurry up and get my chicken coop about 90% done a few weeks ago because they'd WAY outgrown the brooder. We put in one window for light, but just sheathed over the other two window holes we'd framed out.
My plan had been to install the pop-door first and put the other...
