Ok, so we got a few new hens and put them in the coop we built under the existing playhouse. Little did I know, IT LEAKS BAD. Those poor hens are wet and undoubtedly cold. I really don't know what to do at this point. The rain will not stop. There is a lot of flooding nearby, and I don't know...
It is raining and it won't quit.We don't have many natural disasters here, flooding is so scary. I was driving today and the river was just a couple of feet from the road. Please pray for Va!
These are rapidly growing meat birds ready for processing in 6-8 weeks! I am in the Roanoke Va area. Pickup only. Contact me at [email protected] if you are interested for the quickest response.
I just ordered some Cornish Rocks and am selling some. This will be pick up only. They are 3 dollars each. I am in the Roanoke area. Pm me if you are interested. They will be available for pick up Fri Oct 30.
I just placed an order from Ideal for Cornish Rocks for 1.08 each. They have bantams for 99 cent each and EE pullets for 2 dollars! Pretty good deals, I would say, oh and the shipping is really cheap too. Just thought I would let everyone know. They are under weekly special.
I know I am supposed to do the timed feeding, other than that, any suggestions? Also, when is it safe to put them outside? I can't have full grown birds in the brooder.
I went and bought 5 red sex link hens because I am tired of having 40 chickens and no fresh eggs. I looked over the chickens and they seemed to be fine. It was, however, dusky, because the drive took longer than I had expected. Since I have had them home, I noticed that one of them is sneezing...
My chicks are now 4 weeks old and I read that it is time for them to go to the coop. However, it just started getting really cold and I don't feel that would be a good idea. Right now, they are in the brooder in the garage and I took the heat lamp away to see how they would do and all they did...
I have two EE hens. One fits the category perfectly- sweet, tame, relaxed. But the other, she is crazy and neurotic is very aggresive with the other hens. Any suggestions? She doesn't even look like an EE at all- but she does lay blue eggs, that is why I don't wanna get rid of her.
I have 5 White Leghorn pullets and 3 Brown Leghorn pullets for sale- hatchery stock. I live near Roanoke, Va. I wish I could keep them but I just don't have room for all of them in the coop. I would be willing to meet someone within 30 minutes of my home. They are good layers of nice large white...
I got some chickens yesterday that are debeaked. They are really funny looking and it almost seems inhumane. Is there anything I should know about these chickens? I got them for eggs because I have close to 40 chickens that won't give me any eggs until spring. All these chickens and no fresh...
DH built this for me. He did such a great job. I just had him split it in half a few days ago for the new babies. I hated doing that because there was so much space for my girls before. It's about 4 foot across each way! Tell me what you think, and I wanna see yours too. If anyone is wandering...
I don't have an incubator and I wanted to see what it would be like to have some chicks hatch. My mother in law gave me a pair of Silkies so I let them get to work at it. The hen was a very faithful broody and I even got worried about her never coming out of there! I didn't know how it would end...
