I write this with alot of sadness. I'm hoping to find a good hoke for my ducks. Somewhere where they can be around more ducks and have a lot of room to run. There's only 2 they're pekins. I don't want to get rid of them but I don't have the time, space or finances to be able to take care of them...
Anyone know of an easy way to keep bedding dry in a brooder? My ducks keep spilling their water and I have them in a large dog crate now with shavings but they get super wet super quick. Any suggestions?
So I think I lied to alot of people hahaha I didn't realize how Smelly my ducklings are. Haha they stink. Not enough incense in the world haha. I guess it's a mixture of poop wet bedding which I've been changing and wet food.
So I believe that the ducklings are simply just drinking too much water and that's leading them to have diarrhea but I know they can get some disease. Anyone else have insight and what I can feed them to start thickening it up (as weird as that sounds)
So I've been researching my butt off trying to find blueprints to a duck house. Or at least a DIY guide to build on. I can't though. My ducks are about a month old now and have started to feather out. They've jumped out of the brooder box I have them in my house so I think it's time to put them...
When I bought the two babies I was told they were pekins. However the more research I do it looks like I either have a Pekin and a Aylesbury or both of them are mixed. Or maybe just one is. Could someone help me figure this out?
So I noticed after a couple of days on a towel my ducks started to lay down alot. I guess cause they had packed it down to where it wasn't cushioned enough. I put the pine shavings back in and they continued to eat them so I bought Timothy hay for bedding they seem to like it alot more and they...
So I don't think it's bad but when my ducklings sit down they sometimes stretch out on of their legs. Is this bad or are they simply just doing that, stretching?
My ducks keep trying to eat their shavings I have as bedding. I don't know if it's bad so I try my best to stop it before it happens can anyone offer some insight?
I found Niacin that's flush free and actual niacin buts it's in 500mg tablets. Would I be safe to split the tablet into 5ths and add a 5th to a gallon of water? Thoughts?
I called the store I had bought them from and they said they are between 3 to 4 weeks old which is older then I had thought. Is this however old enough to let them splash around in some water while being supervised?
Thanks in advance for the info.
So I just bought 2 ducklings from Rural King I would assume they are about a week maybe 2 old. I know I won't need a coop for them for a little while but I'd like to get on it as soon as possible so that when they are ready they can move into their new home outside. Does anyone have some simply...
So I'm sad to say I became a duck owner today but lost both of my ducklings....in an attempt to keep them warm I had been using a space heater as my heat lamp broke. I had it far enough away I had thought but it heated the bottom of their cage to the point that it killed my baby ducks.. I have...
