I have just recently started see wild birds stealing my girls chicken feed, they will fly in the coop and my girls do nothing about it. The only time they fly away is when I come out the door. Do any of you have this problem if so what do you do about it? Don't really won't to feed the whole...
I have 6 Red Stars, 5 of them started laying at 18 weeks, but the other one has yet to lay a egg, we are in week 20, should I be concerned? Or at what point should I worry?
I was mowing the yard and saw Two of my Red Stars in the nest box for a very long time, so when I was through mowing the yard I looked in and saw my very first Egg. My babies are 18 weeks and 1 day old. Here are some pictures, my camera is messing up, so this is the best I could do..... I am so...
I have 6 Red Stars, how big of a hole does a nest box have to have? I was thinking about using a cat litter box that has a top on it but not sure if the entrance is big enough. It measures about 71/2 x 71/2 I'm not sure if they will go through something that small, the inside is plenty big.
I live in the South and as you know we have plenty of bugs. Has anyone ever put a light in there coop at night so your chickens can eat the Bugs that gather around it, or will they even do that?
I have a 12lb feeder for my babies that are 12weeks old, instead of having a separate bowl for grit can i just mix it with there feed? If so how much do i mix? They do free range a few hours a day.
I didn't know that they would be as friendly as they are. The last time I went in the coop I had 5 jump up on me. 2 on my shoulder 1 on my back 1 on my knee and 1 on my head. After the one flew up on my head I had to get out of there, was scared she might leave me a present. That was the first...
I have 6 Red Stars, what size waterer and feeder do I need for them? I would like for it to last them for several days without having to worry about it. If one kind is better than the other let me know. I would rather do it right the first time. Pics would be great if you have any.
Thanks.
