If not for bad luck...I would have no luck at all!

So I finally find someone who has nice looking Delawares who have some youngsters available, who are within an hour and a half drive from me. So I jump on the chance to go see them. Hubby and I pack up the family in the "reliable" car and head out excited about our (hopefully) new additions. We...

    Delaware Rooster in NC

I recently lost my Delaware Rooster to a raccoon. The area has been fixed where the raccoon got in, but now i am without a Delaware rooster for my girls. He must have a nice temperament and as close to sop as I can reasonably get. Any help would be appreciated.

    could not resist....

I went to the feed store for supplies today, and I knew I was in trouble when I walked in the door. As soon as I was in, I could hear the chirping. I looked over at DH and he just stared back at me. I went over to the box that was full of chirping little fuzzy butts. We stared at them for a...

    Single chick outside???

My only chick is now 3 weeks old...is it possible to acclimate her to being outside by herself? I think it is too cold for a single chick outside, even with a heat lamp. DH thinks its ok. I would like advice from the experts! So, what do you guys think? It has gotten into the 20's here lately.

    WTB: Delaware chicks

I am very interested in owning some nice Delawares. I had an unsuccessful hatch from some shipped eggs (post office fault no doubt!) so I am trying not to go that route if I can help it. I would love day olds, but older chicks are ok too! I would like to buy some from good quality stock. Thanks!!

    Anybody ever eat Game Chickens?

I was wondering and having a discussion with DH about this. Do they call them "Game" because they have a "Gamey" taste like a wild bird or do they call them that because of the "sport" they are used for?
