    egg fertility

Is it safe to assume that if pullets are laying and roosters have access to them, the eggs will be fertile? Also, if there are older hens in the mix who are currently not laying due to the winter break, are the roosters leaving them alone or hitting them up regardless if they are laying or not...

It's possible these are fertile (by the tom that was Thanksgiving dinner) but doubtful. How can I get her...

What killed/ate my young chickens like this?

I have birds in 2 locations (6 miles apart) and have found this to recently have happened in both places. 2 month old chicks (some a month old) were killed and their feathers on their backs were eaten off. Two, had their necks eaten off as well (weasel trait I know), but never just the body...

I think I'm good with a number system and just keeping a log of each # and their info in a ledger or something so I guess I'm looking for just the brand or type of leg bands. Also, do you keep changing the band as they grow...

PHOTOS added, Cuckoo Marans leg colors different...

....I was shipped cuckoo marans day olds in mid March. Turns out 8 were roos. 5 have pinkish/gray legs and 3 have dark dark yellow legs. Other than that, they look the same. Why would this be, all from the same place. Which would be the real cuckoos or why would the leg color be different?

I thought this was an ameracauna. I hatched it from something, now I'm not sure what it is. Think it's a boy though?
