    9 week old pullets

    What all can I feed my pullets? I have been giving them just the chick starter. My question is this, can they have whole oats and corn chops too? Will it help them grow? Or just stay with the the starter? K

    Broodie hen hatching mine!!

    Ok I have 4 hens that have gone broody and I go out this evening and I hear a peep! then it pops out from under mom, OH how cute is that? It was yellow with some stripes! These will be mutts, but I will raise them to eat or sell. But I thought the bator was neat, but this was awesome to see. K

    What would you suggest for these?

    We bought a new set of hens, they include production red, golden sexlinks, RIR, EE. Of these the production red seem down. Tails down kinda moopy. I have lost 2 so far. What do you suggest is wrong? I have terrimycin in the water now, do you think they need worming? They are all 1yr or younger...

    3 black astrolorpe roos for sale in Texas

    Update on today's hatch

    I got a peep!!! Yeah.. this is my 1st ever hatch, and one of my own black astrolorps has broken out in the egg carton. It is tired, so she is just laying there resting.. I am doing the happy dance K

    How long does it take for a chick to get out?

    This is my 1st ever attempt at hatching and I know nothing! So I have a pip or a peck spot in one of the eggs this am. How long in general does it take for a chick to hatch out? When is a time to intervene? Karen

    Duck laid her 1st egg now what?

    I have my first pair of ducks and the female magpie just laid her 1st egg. Can someone tell me how ducks dO? do the go broody like a chicken or is it different? I need a little 101 if someone can help me. IF she does not sit on this egg should I pick it up or let them stack up? Karen

    Baby peeps eating newpaper!

    Ok, today they are almost a week old. This is the 1st day of no paper towels in there. I noticed some of the chicks pecking and running with the news paper. Then, I saw them eat it. Is this normal, will it hurt them? K

    When to vent

    Ok I am on day 3 and my humidity was holding around 40-45 and then it dropped down so I added some water. I did have 1 vent up, so to increase I closed it down a bit. Is this ok? I am not sure about this whole vent thing. Help! This is my first hatch K
