Long story short my son can not drink cow milk, gets along fine w/goat milk. Except for a quart is $5.00! We go threw a ton of milk in the house I was wondering if cost wise it would be better to just buy a diary goat- maybe a Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goat? Pros/cons of owning a goat.
How do you...

So I can seperate the roos since I've grown quite attached to them and really don't want to rehome untill I figure out a way to get some more hens. She seems to have one that is always with her, so maybe I'll just seperate her and her roo friend, in one section and leave the others in the other...
Last year I bought sraight run chicks 4 silkies, 4 cochins. I only have 1 hen (cochin), rest turned out to be roosters. There all together get along fine. Since I only have 1 hen is this going to present a issue come spring time? Will the roosters fight over the hen?
Ok- bear with me- new...
I'm getting a new coop this year so I can get some more chicks! I like different looking chickens. We have 4 silkies and 4 cochins right now. Only 1 hen the rest are roosters. Must be cold hardy, friendly, & docile- small kids at home.

I moved my baby guinea that I've had in my basement this whole time yesterday- he's about 12 wks old. Checked on him today was fine, I must not have closed to door well that divided him to the rest of the chicken flock because I just went in to check on him and the chickens were out in the run...

yeah, he might need to be seperate, and that will prevent him from getting warm by snuggling with the others. Can you put the heat lamp out there with him. I have an extension cord running out about 100 feet or more to my coops to run the lamps.

Semiwarm -ha! Now that may be awhile....my basement is only has a fireplace for a heatsource, which I've only put on a handful of the coldest nights lately- I still have a heatlamp on him though. If I shut the heat lamp off it would be just like being out in the coop. Should I just do that...

Welcome! I'm no expert but just wanted to chime in that my silkies don't roost. I've tried putting them up there but its just not there thing apparently...Food for thought
I was all paronoid that there little legs were getting frost bite, so I let them into the kitchen for a bit to warm up but it scared me so I've had them in the coop with access to the run but not free range since then
I let my chickens out yesterday to free range and they kept tucking one leg under so only standing on one leg. Is that normal? Should they not be allowed out when its really cold?
I would defiently NOT get Purina or those really cheap brands. They are nothing but by products and fillers. Have you checked out Taste of the Wild? http://www.tasteofthewildpetfood.com/ I would go grain free as well as grains cause alot of health issues. But you can buy it online for decent...
