    1/2" x 1/2" galvanized hardware cloth - gauge?

What do you think is the best to put on the bottom of a new chick brooder for day olds up to 2 weeks old? It would need to be lifted out, by brooder is 24 in x 48 in. heavy wood box. It would need to be tiny, right?

    will they be good eggs??

They are the official egg of: Green Eggs and Ham, so they will taste extra good, just like the rest of the home grown eggs. The eggs taste according to what the hen eats, so a natural diet makes the best tasting eggs, an all store-bought feed makes eggs that taste like store bought eggs. Good...

The Best Way to Divide hatching eggs in the Hatcher.

That is what I am thinking to do too. I had some suet cages that I am using, they work great but I only have two. They need to be tall enough to hold eggs and chicks but not so tall as to hinder the bottom tray from turning. I sure wish I had a separate hatcher, that will be my next major...

Do I have toms are hens??? Guessing they are 10-11 weeks old.

I think it is too early to tell, but I would guess a hen first there and then a Tom. One has bigger thicker legs and one has a bigger head too, he also has the bigger legs. Of course, they may not be the same age, but appear to be. Good luck, one of each would be good.

is it better to put coop near tall trees or in the open?

I would go with the tree area, for the shade and weather protection. Out in the open is often windy, too hot or too cold and chickens just seem to like trees. My coop in in a small orchard, so the birds get the fallen fruit and more importantly, the bugs. It works well for us. Good luck with...
