This has been the worse year for me as far as predators are concerned. In the last month I have lost 41 of 43 pullets to an unknown predator. I have plugged every hole around my chicken run with cinder blocks, or concrete. I have reinforced my windows with chicken wire or 1/2" hardware cloth. ...
electricity in the coop? or an extension cord and fan will help cool...you can get fans with clips at walmart for about 10 bucks..as far as the window....sounds like a good idea..may want to run the frame from the floor to the roof and secure it to the frame..then mount window, fans etc
this is a post-hatch issue...still holding on to one survivor from this last hatch...seems to be doing good...just lonely i suppose. If i had to bet..it is a bacteria issue..as i have not cleaned it since the last use. did i read a 10/1 mix bleach and water?

I have a rooster of unknown variety a week ago I posted and was told it sounded like gapeworm. Did the worm treatment but still he is very raspy when he crows. I read on another one site to put cider vinegar in the water, to clean any possible mucus in his throat; he is very shy when I come...
