Can a chicken be allergic to Hay?

I have a bantam new Hampshire 'Molly' who is 5 years old. She's always seemed to have a slight allergy to hay but it seems to have gotten worse or should I be looking for some other issue? she is fully wormed but I change the coop with fresh straw at the weekend. After this weekend she has...

5 out of 7 chickens have stopped eating - any advice?

About a month ago one of my girls stopped laying eggs and eating - she walks around fine and her poop is fine. But we have been feeding her liquid food ever since. Since then another 4 have done the same. Again, they all appear fine and healthy and their poop is fine and solid. They have all...

How do I stop my 7 week old duckling biting?

I have four 7 week old ducklings - I got them at 4 weeks old. One of them 'Mobey' has started to become aggressive. She not only nips the others but has started to bite the family and 'hold' onto the bite and not let go. I think this may be an act of becoming 'top duck' however, obviously we...

What eats rats whole but leave heads? and will it attack my chickens?

The duck house was closed up due to rats from next door - as next door are ploughing fields so we're getting a few in. There was a small hole in the bottom that baby rats cold get in - didn't even think a large rat could get into it. A cat definitely couldn't get in there - it was all shut up.

What eats rats whole but leave heads? and will it attack my chickens?

I live in Scotland UK, and recently new farm tenants next door yesterday burnt their field -there were a few rats in our garden yesterday because of this as I presume they were driven out of the field. Problem is; as we were cleaning out the duck house we found 3 1/2 dead baby rats (one's body...

5 week old duckling- different to others - is this normal or is she sick - any ideas?

We collected 4 khaki campbell ducklings last week from a breeder which makes them 5 weeks old. One of them was a little larger(named her Nessie) than the others and remained on her own. The other three are smaller and play more together. The others cuddle up and put there beaks onto Nessie at...
