I love McMurray Hatcheries! They've always been very pleasant to deal with. My first free chick was a roo white polish. I've had several different kinds. Please don't expect all 25 to be hens! You'll be extremely lucky if they are!!! No one's perfect!!
Good luck!

I was really lucky on this! I had a hen that had been broody for two months. Someone kept on eating all of the eggs that she was trying to sit on. I had a run in with a predator about two months ago and lost 7 of my flock so I needed to order some more babies anyway. I ordered 26...
I have a week old baby that has maybe a broken leg. It's been this way for three days now. The hip joint is swollen to almost the size of a dime. She will not walk on it and her toes just hang. She's eating, drinking and still hanging with the rest of the bunch. Do I need to cull her? Will...
I have someone that is still eating eggs! I can't determine which one it is! The remaining two eggs that were ready to hatch have now been eaten and the babies are DEAD! Can I insert some type of dye in some eggs and see if that would identify who's eating them? I thought that I had weeded...
If you are anywhere near Northport or Tuscaloosa I'd be glad to go gather them for you while you are gone. With it being so hot here I would throw them away - but that's just me.

Try putting golf balls in your nest. It will show the ladies where you want them to lay and they will also not be able to break into the "egg". I did this with mine and it worked for me. There are many people on here that have done the same.

I've posted this on the incubating/hatching eggs forum but haven't gotten a response. Maybe you guys can help me out!
One of my ladies has been in the same box going on two days now (sitting on a golf ball since I take the eggs). My problem is that she is sitting in THE favorite nest. I...
One of my ladies has been in the same box going on two days now (sitting on a golf ball since I take the eggs). My problem is that she is sitting in THE favorite nest. I would like to move her - I have 10 other ladies that like that same nest and have gotten up in there with her these last two...
