I bought this pullet from my local farm store in late august/early september, when we first brought her home she was absolutly lifeless and we didn't think she'd make it through the night. But she did and she was bossing out other pullet around. About a month later we ran out of chick starter...
Should i leave this newly hatched chick with her for a while? We want to raise them in a cage because this momma usually leaves the chicks after she hatches them out. So the chick hatched today should i leave it with her, i think more should be on their way.
I have a large white duck, don't know what kind but the knot on his leg that is like a knee i guess? is very swollen and he is limping quite badly. It's about twice the size of his other one. What do i do???
I have achick that hatched today and it's so cute! It's eyes are open and it's peeping and stuff he just can't walk. Is that normal? It's legs look fully developed and functional.
Ok a chick is hatching right now!!! We have 4 more to follow but i have no way to be sure they are fertile but even one is making me happy. We are taking the chicks from the mother who is duck (yes she sat chicken eggs) How warm do we need to keep their home??? We are going to get chick starter...

I just started noticing these little eggs about a year ago, i thought we had a little bird laying in the nesting boxes! We have another one that has the same mustache so i assume she too is a EE, the others eggs are full sized. Her legs are gray. The funny thing is she is probably 3 or 4 years...
I have a duck that showed up behind my house a couple of years ago, so we took her in and we think she is probably a wild duck but she wanted to be with our ducks so we took her in. Ever since she has wanted to be a mother 24/7. one year she hatched about 8 ducklings in january! Way to cold for...
