You gals that are panicked over the storm dranis did you ever see the moive "IT"? Stephan King. You will really be paniced after you see it....LOL....Maybe you better not....
I would love to be in the Seed Exchange. I have rented a garden plot a 20 x 20 at Agritopia and I have been raising amazing crops. This sounds like great fun!
I also have a Koi pond and I am also over run with plants...they are growing like weeds this Summer.

I am curious what is IB? I have a mister in my run and I have hosed my fluffy butts down now and then. It is just awful to read about the losses this Summer. I did lose one but the other three seem stable enough now. Of course the temps have dropped out of the teens so I am sure...

Sorry Shaun thatt you have to get rid of your chickens. I would be interested in seeing a pic of the small coop and the dog panels you mentioned. Of course if all mine die off because of the heat then I will not need anything either. LOL....
And then there were three. All my chickens seemed fine this morning when I left them out at 5:30 am but when I went back to check on them at 9 am one of my Ameracanas was dead. I have been using misters all day but I just do not think it is cooling down enough for them at night. Dang I hope I...

She's awesome ... we went and picked up a blue silkie last week (Flo). Her project birds are really cool Flo is so funny because she lays on the poop board at night cuddled up with her friends the blue ameraucanas ... they quit sitting on the roost and they sleep...
I use to grow hops when we lived in Seattle and we made great beer. It is a lot of fun and rewarding. It takes a lot of expense initally though. There is a beer making store on Baseline and just east of Stapley (Mesa)....in the same complex that Presidential Pools is in.

I am growning Celebrity, Roma, Brandywine and Early Girl. The Brandywine are my favorite. They are huge...not so pretty to look at but delicious. They are starting to slow down now.

I clip them as soon as they start escaping... by the time the feathers grow back, they are too fat to escape.
When should I clip the wings on my chicks? They seem top be fly/running a lot now. They are about two months old. And when is the "magic" age to know if you have a Roo?
