Yay! She’s very vocal but not crowing. Her behavior is slightly more “aggressive” and flighty than my other one. But might just be different personalities.
Hi! I have 2 white leghorns both 3 months old. Sold to me as pullets but I’m starting to think maybe one is a cockerel. His comb and wattles are larger and darker red and his wing feathers look awkward and out of place all the time. What do you guys think?
Got these little balls of fluff in the bantam bin at Tractor supply for half off! Pretty sure 3-6 are white and thinking 1 might be buff and 2 possibly splash? Wanted to get your opinions!
Help! My beloved hen Fanny is sick. I lost an older hen (no longer laying) that had the same symptoms last week.
Fanny is 2 yo frizzle silkie. She started acting weird about a week ago, not running out of the coop when I would come outside, generally weak and wouldn’t move around too much and...
Hi there my frizzle hen (about 2 years old) has not been acting like her normal self for about a week now. She has stopped laying (which isn’t uncommon for her as she is a show breed). She has had heavy breathing and just not been generally active (stays in the coop when all the other hens run...
My 6-7 week old cuckoo Marans has been laying down most of the time in the brooder for the past two weeks. She’s eating drinking and pooping fine. I just moved my chicks into the coop outside and noticed she was walking weird and laying down more than standing up. Her legs look really far apart...
I know this was posted awhile ago but I have a French cuckoo Maran that looks just like her, and they do look similar to barred rocks but you probably know by now if she ended up being a Maran by her egg color. My cuckoo Maran is the same she’s always laying down!
I’m so happy! I think I only ended up with one roo out of my bunch of nine! Well five were sold as pullets and four as straight run but I’m pretty sure my white silkie is a roo. Rounded comb already turning pink, much bigger than my other two silkies the same age and not calm like my other two.
I was so sad she ended up being a he lol I raised four chicks last year, one passed a few days after I got her and one (the for sure pullet, of course) got out of her coop and I never found her body but I’m sure the neighbors cats got her, so sad she was the sweetest. Then my remaining two ended...
