I don’t know how to sext them? I know I have two males that are crowing for sure. One is a wild Coturnix so it’s easy to tell the color. The others are tuxedos and hybrids so I have no idea to tell who is a male. Any tips would help.
Thank you for the info! Do I have to do anything to get them to use it or do they just instinctively know to go under it? How many birds do you think this will work for?
I just picked up two of these producers pride heat plates that double as a coop warmer. I have 31 more checks coming in the mail tomorrow and I’m looking for a safer alternative to heat lamps. Has anyone used these?
I am looking to free range my flock that is about a-year-old. How do I introduced them to free ranging? Do I just want them out one day and I hope they come back? We have a mix of seven chickens for Muskogee’s in three khaki Campbell ducks
I have to take more pictures. We put them all together today and all went smoothly minus the big Muscovy drake pinning our KC DRAKE IN THE POOL AND BIT SOME FEATHERS OUT! I chased them off and everyone seems to be getting along well. Our Red Cross sex links were a bit aggressive with the new...
we just butchered 5 of our Muscovy ducks, 2 Pekins, and 1 pekin/Rouen. We have some beautiful duck meat, I got four of the bigger birds quartered and the others whole. Anybody have tips for cooking duck meat? I was thinking using my smoker or instapot but want to take advantage of that crispy...
i just traded a few of my meat chickens for 4 Muscovy hens and a drake. We have 7 chickens and 3 khaki Campbell ducks (2 hens and a drake). My question is can I just add the musvoveys to the run? Will there be fighting between the drakes? The muscovies are super sweet and the lady I got them...
hi there, we have 7 chickens and 3 khaki Campbell’s, a male and two females. We are ordering 18 more chickens and want to free range starting this summer but I’m worried the ducks won’t come back. There is an acre pond behind my house and I’m worried they won’t want to come back to their pool...
Thanks for the great info everybody! They will be free to roam we have an acre of yard and an acre of woods so I’m hoping that’s enough to not let them run wild
hi there, we are expanding our flock of 7 hens by 15 this spring. I would love to start free ranging them, but I’m worried that our hens and 3 ducks who are almost a year old and have lived their whole life in a covered run won’t come back to their coop. Any suggestions? Thank you!
Hey everyone, we are looking to add to our flock. I want a couple different colored Eggers to add to our one Americana left. My main priority is to add breeds that are great layers.
In your opinion, what breeds can we get that lay the most eggs? Thanks for the help!
