They are lovely Easter Eggers.
It would be unusual to find Ameraucanas at a feed store. Ameraucanas have a SOP (Standard of Perfection) , should breed true and can be shown. They cost much more than Easter Eggers and are normally bought from breeders.
I would ask the feed store where the...
I have giant breed dogs and they can make some really huge tracks.
To the op, I'm really sorry this happened and glad you found out what did this. I hope you can get some closure.
Do you have nylar in the UK?
It won't kill insects/pests but it will put a hurting on them . It's an I.G. Regulator. The active ingredient is Pyriproxyfen. It prevents the pest from becoming an adult.
I tried many things recommended until I bought a gallon of flea spray that had the I.G...
What a great article, Beekissed! I look forward to using your info to show my flock my position. Carrying a rooster around never made sense to me but your info really seems to "Speak" the language. Thanks :clap
:hugs:hugs:hugs
Hang in there ,Thomas. You are the only one who truly knows how it feels to walk in your shoes.
You made a caring decision that I have no doubt was difficult.
Thanks for chiming in, Moonshine. I am open to lessons as I continue my education. :)
I thought I had read in earlier posts that using a solid roo x CL hen created headspots on the male chicks only.
I know there are other color combos when used correctly for sex links.
Thanks for info. I was curious as to how Hoover's Hatchery was able to offer these. I'm so glad they do because I really like my 3 SG.
I've went to the Czech Republic website several times and they offer some really nice hybrids plus have information about each one.
Hi Cerise! If I read previous posts correctly, the Olandsk Dwarf roo would have to have been a solid color in order for this to be a sex linked cross.
Correct me if I'm wrong but all the Olandsk Dwarf chickens I've seen were multi colored.:)
Cute chick though!
Sorry Cerise. I tried to quote...
I'll have a rooster. He came out of TSC pullet bin,lol
I had thought he was a Tetralink but he looks like the Amberlinks here. Anyway, so far he has not given me a bit of trouble. He seems mellow and as I watch him out of the corner of my eye when I'm in the chicken run, he appears to do the...
Very interesting about the silkied like feathers on these that hatched.
This other thread has some info that may be relevant. Check out post #118 in this thread: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/525146/the-blackest-ones-on-exploring-the-significance-of-cemani-mutations/110
Very pretty!!
I think they are both pullets. The gold/black one may possibly lay a green or blue egg. It does not have an Easter Egger comb but in your country I still think it may be a blue or green egg layer. You will have to let us know.
Thailand, sounds like you are on your way.
It can be very discouraging I know. I bet the bath really did help! Another thing I did was to use only one pair of shoes to go to the chicken coop. When I got back to the house I had a small plastic box with flea powder in it and I left those...
Thailand, I've been through the mites and lice problem. I tried so many different things before I was able to find what worked for me. I don't know what is in your country but I didn't have any luck until I bought a gallon of long acting flea/bug solution that I sprayed in every...
Yeah, congrats ChicKat. When people take their time to explain the info in such a way I can visualize...it helps me a lot.
I personally enjoy the more relaxed breed threads, such as this one and some of the others as well. I understand the seriousness of breeders working towards a SOP for...
