I don't have a real hard time keeping my Whites White............But when it comes show time you cant just wipe them off and go they need a full bath head to toe.
I will try and get some of them free ranging the yard
They do have ties back to the original Qubec strain. And yes there is a bit of a dark smudge on their backs. It goes away very quickly but just wondering what causes it.
Just wanted to post updated pictures of our breeding stock. I have seperated them now until after the show season.
And heres a little one who thinks he's an Ameraucana lol
Yeah needs a little more size. Remember they have Cochin in them so they should be Breasty.
This is my guy about the same age as yours accoring to the spurs.
We grow um big here in Canada.............They have to bulk up to handle the winters....lol.....
But on a serious note, any show i have taken my birds to , i find the hens very under weight according to the standard. Ours are at the top end of Standard weight which in my opinion gets them...

How old are your Chanties? Thanks.
My chanties are 8 Months old. They are big girls, some of the biggest i have seen. I do have some smaller hens that are laying a slightly smaller egg but still a good Medium size.
I think you are pretty darn close, but none have actually formed a cusion type comb yet so still hard to tell for sure. The one in the top couple oics is definately a male.
Heres some Chanteclers of mine from Canada.
Young Cockerel but is showing some very good traits
Three young Roos, still havent decided which one to use for breeding yet, All are nice
Three hens from a Quebec strain, not top quality if you ask me. Little small
Best of breed at a couple...
They come from Al Pilon here in Ontario. He says he has such a high demand for the chicks he can't keep up. So when my kids showed some interest in Chickens he gave me 10 top quality birds to start our own breeding program.
Can't wait till spring
