Yes. The egg on the left was much creamier and richer in taste. More depth, if you will. The egg on the right was still creamy, but not as much. And not as rich. Also the egg on the right did not hold up when transferred from the pan, but that could be independent from the lack of paprika.

I was just there yesterday. Took FOREVER to drive from Maryville (NW) to the border. I cannot imagine driving from east to west or north to south.

I've left for a couple days. I left my layers a lot of food mixed with quite a bit of Paprika. My brother is collecting the eggs every day and labelling them for me. When I get back I will crack all that have piled up and get a picture for y'all. I mixed 2 gals of feed with roughly 6 tbsp of...

@jolenesdad How is your experiment going? I will take a pic later today of an egg from today if I can identify one laid today (I forgot to collect eggs yesterday and didn't grab them this morning). I have a couple hens that lay on the ground whose eggs I did remove the other day, so maybe I'll...

    The great yolk color debate

I wonder if there are any studies on the effects of light exposure on egg yolk color? I would venture to guess that yolks got lighter as days got shorter, but that could be due to waning foraging instead of decreasing light.

Amen. Another variable is changing for me. I used up the last of my bag of Nutrena and am now using Purina. I don't think that will skew the results because I've used both before and the yolk colors have remained the same. We shall see :old Peprika will be used as often as possible, although I...

On my phone I have a picture of two eggs I cracked open this morning as my control. I will upload them when I am out of class as I'm not allowed to use my phone during class. I will note that the lighting was not perfect so it does not give an exact color match of reality vs picture, however...

Btw, some folks on here very strictly told me that Basil is bad for chickens. FWIW.
