I suppose I am lucky. My Welsummer bantams are real healthy. They take the cold real well. Oldest birds I've had are 5 year old girls, they are in extremely good shape.
BTW garlic in the water bowls works great for worms! and its natural
I was just a thinking, and then I thought I outta post this. My bantams, I can't tell sex on them at all until they start getting feather colors. My wife and I been wrong so many time with those chicks
They kind of vary, but generally the bantams hang right around 30oz. Since I show them I know that it's hard for judges to understand, that they are the largest of the bantams. Even if you pick them up you realize they are allot more fluff then they look.
He is beautiful!
You know those soft dog treats, kind of look like small worms, come in like 3 colors?
Chickens love them, you can give those as treats and eventually probably get him to eat out of your hand, then tame gim

Welsummer roosters take a long time to fill in and look good, in fact one picture you can see two cockerals behind the girl
Not sure why but had trouble uploading pictures onto this website, Found another site to host pictures for me so happy!

Yea problem with hatcheries, and this is any of them is. They get the eggs from differnt sources and what they end up with is not consistant, you might end up with birds that are great and some that you want to shake your head at
Go back and look at my pictures of my Welsummers, that's what hen and cock will look like. Mals have red on hackle, saddle and on wings, green tale and black chest, up to quarter of chest can be red. females have that brownsish colored body with golden feathers with black runners on the...
