That comb. I can't see enough of the body and it's young enough to change anyway. A lot of black and white are males tho it has a very typical female wild type duckwing pattern right now.

It has a very red comb, and an uneven pattern. I'd be shocked if it wasn't a boy.

Certain things are sex linked. Red shoulders is one. Girls can be red all over but boys only can only have red shoulders. Same with salmon breast only a girl can have that. I've seen so many ee at this point I can pick them out immediately. Not very many give me pause.

Wyandottes can get combs and wattles very early. But that's a boy 99%. I'm too much of a relativist to say 100% lol. I don't see any ee in him either. It could just be the typical terrible quality hatchery bird slw but they usually don't breed them that bad. Who knows. Some ee's don't have...

Chances are good probably not. Some boys are ok with only one hen but others will have 10 bare backed hens. Having 5 girls for 2 boys will drastically increase your chances of fighting if the sub male tries to sneak off with a lady.

I agree I think it looks like the male partridge. It's mildly frustrating because I didn't ask for these birds, someone was trying to do something nice and brought them to me as a surprise.

Just Fyi 3 rows isn't indicative of roo. They have to all be raised. And even. Pullets will commonly have 3 rows of pea comb but the middle one only is generally raised and the others on the sides are smaller. But I agree, this bird bears some watching. Sigh...

I do think it's a pullet and that's just some red ticking but on the other hand that does look an awful lot like a male partridge chest. Sigh.
