DAY OLD PICS! post #225. 12 hatched!

I just wish we could have had some favs hatch. The soonest we'll be allowed to incubate again will be September. I figure if we put 24 eggs in the bator every 7 months we should always have plenty of eggs and plenty to incubate... that's if the roosters aren't too loud and I can get 3...

I just have to laugh at DS#4... he put the 4 Ameraucanas lined up together on the floor and said, "This is UNBELIEVABLE!... 1 Wheaten roo, 1Wheaten pullet, 1 Blue Wheaten roo, 1 Blue Wheaten pullet!, What are the odds of that???!!!" I told him astronomical, and not to count his pullets before...

After I get back from work, I'll get pics of the 12 little darlings. We are giving the coop a real good cleaning... I'm going to get a brand new brooder box and get it ready for the coop. (they are in a small box in the kitchen at present under a light (doesn't make DW that happy) Hopefully...

Quote: Wouldn't that be nice... but no... I think it's time to candle and see if they are still alive. If not all breakout will show is formed peeps but you may detect dry membranes and have some idea of why they did not pip. You sometimes see this kind of delay in older eggs but these were...

Quote: I slept from 11 to 1:30 and from 4: to 6. I'm tired, but mostly it's because I can't breath. Nose clogged. Been to many doctors, no one can fix me. I recently heard of another here in town that uses radio waves to open up sinus'. I'll go home in about 20 minutes and try and take a...

At this point, I figure the chicks in there have until Saturday afternoon until I have to take them out and put them in a brooder (as they started hatching on Thursday afternoon). I'm not giving up on the others until then, I've got to think positive and pray that God will help them get out...
