EE's would be fun! But I don't know of anyone selling them. Maybe sometime in the future.
As far as Pecker is concerned, I don't know how she is doing.
My Lucy is 8 years old. Sweetest dog ever. And too smart for her own good. Belgians are great dogs but I wouldn't recommend them for an inexperienced dog owner.
It's taken a while but I'm almost there. My fencing has been installed. I made the necessary modifications to the coop I bought. I went to the recycling yard and was able to purchase all the fence posts I needed. I paid $50 for about 25 posts! Not bad at all. My boyfriends friend is a fence...
Hi everyone! Remember me?
I got a coop! I'm very excited. I figured I would post here because only people with chickens will understand why I'm so excited.
I got a smokin' deal on it! As you can see from this picture, the person I got this from is a "collecter". I bought this from him for...

YES! But first a coop. I already know where I want it. I just need to clean the area up a bit, fence it off, build a coop and then I will get some chickens.
Good for you do you know what breed your getting?
Well, I think I would like to get 4 chickens. I want a...

He told me he was going to keep her as a pet. He was very loving towards her. He held her close to his body and was petting her. I think he liked her because she was so gentle.
I am choosing to believe him when he says he'll keep her as a pet.
You decided you did not wish to keep her...

I'm so glad you're going to get chickens! You did such an amazing job with her. The Before and After pix tell the story...

UPDATE:
I ended up keeping Pecker for a couple more weeks. She is much healthier and her legs are stronger. She is getting around pretty good now. She still has a tremendous appetite.
Yesterday she went to her new home. One of the local feed stores said I could bring her in. When I got there...
Thanks everyone for all of your input. I appreciate it. It's pretty clear from all the information I have received that this is a meat bird. I don't have the heart to feed her and then process her. I also don't want to try to keep her as a pet if it's only going to prolong her agony (and it...

All the signs point to Cornish X. I'd like to think it's not but it just fits too well.
No abnormality with the toes. She's put on weight since I got her. I guess only time will tell.

Yes it does seem to be addictive. I just have the one and not sure about it. BUT definately want more now!
I lived in the Palm Springs area for 19 years. I know where you're at

I think you're right. Everything about a Cornish X fits with this chicken. I'm soooo bummed!
I don't know what I should do now. I have a friend whose neighbor has chickens, I may see if they want her.
BUT - after all the research I've done and looking at the pictures etc. etc. - I...
