Losing a grandparent is like losing a treasure...the history, memories, knowledge and love shared with that special person. The influence a grandparent has on us helped mold our outlook on life and the vision and optimism we have for our future and the relationships we share. My grandmother...

Posting a photo of my new babies....hatched the three Cayuga cross lings and have two more that pipped today still in the hatcher. Purchased the four Pekins this morning right after the shipment arrived at our local Atwoods. Now that they know where the food is located, I'll change to wood shavings

Bumble foot is a staph infection. Please be careful and wear surgical gloves when you work on the call. You had a good teacher in Ravyn. Hope all the babies respond quickly to their treatment. Good luck with your duck and goose hatch.

Yesterday while checking our cows, we found a young Teal duck hen injured by a snapping turtle. She could not fly, but was fast on her feet. Apparently she had been injured earlier in the morning because the bleeding had stopped. Her breast skin was torn in a three corner tear from her breast...

I'm not Ravyn, but a mule duck is one that is sterile due to genetics....just like the offspring of a Mammoth Jack over a horse. A mule is unable to have babies.

I am sooo tempted! I'm going on a short trip to Santa Fe the 9th to 14 of May. If I were to adopt duck eggs right now, they would hatch while I'm gone. Hubby is not incubator trained. I would be happy to pay shipping for a clutch that I could set so they would go into lockdown after my...
