I have a GQF 1202 cabinet bator that I absolutely love. Works wonderful! I also move my eggs to my styrofoam hovabator to hatch in. Everything works smoothly and I have great hatches :)
My Easter babies are growing so fast!
The Easter poults.
Fuzzy little silkie butts!
And since i just happened to be in the right place at the right time, i caught Merci, just as she laid her egg lol.
A few pics from the hatch a long!
Silkies!
Gotta love new poults :)
Surprise lavender ameraucanas! I ended up with 5!
My daughter and all the babies :)
I thought about doing that with the bator too but I have more eggs fount on lockdown tomorrow lol. I put him back in the brooder and kept an eye on him for a while. He found a nice group of fluffies to cuddle up in and is looking ok for now lol
I have a little one that's booted too right now. It unzipped the shell almost competely and stopped. It was very cemented in and now has curled feet. His little outside toes curl down under his feet and the toes on the one for look curled in. I have so many babies in the brooder that the little...
Looks like my hatch is finally over.

I'm pretty happy with this hatch :) my shipped eggs did good and out of 9, 6 hatched so I now have 6 new beautiful silkies. I also ended up with 5 new, surprise lavender ameraucana babies which will grow out and replace some...
I was 18 pages behind so I hope I didn't miss much. My hatch is STILL going on but I've found that my ameraucanas do carry the lavender gene and I now have 4 new little lavender babies, my silkies have started to hatch, I've got some new olive eggers lol. Or of 89 eggs locked down, I think...
I may be the oddball on this topic but I never tilt or rotate mine and they just sit on my kitchen counter until set day. I still have excellent hatches.
Any eggs that I'm not positive are bad, I mark with an x and put in anyway. Just so I'm not watching and waiting on them forever. You can leave them in the caps to hatch if you choose. I usually lay mine on their sides in the bottom unless they're shipped eggs with bad air cells. Then they're...
You don't need to change the temperature. It should still be 99.5-100.5 and up the humidity to 65%. If the Wells in the bottom of the bator don't get it that high, add a wet sponge . Good luck!
Lol, not far at all! I would drive that. I drove 3 1/2 hours to pick up 2 silkie chicks lol. Stopped at the farm show while I was out there so it wouldn't seem so weird lol
