It poured buckets of water for a couple hours. My crazy girls were out in the open field. Soaked with lightening cracking and thunder roaring over head. I couldn't believe they were out pecking for bugs unaffected by the downpour. Crazy girls.

I sat out in the run and gave the girls snacks. They received Red cabbage leaves, Grits and strawberry tops. I also did chicken obedience training with my King Shepard. This command is a tough one for her. Today was another good day.

Both Breeds use their dew claws like a thumb. Know to climb fences, open doors ect. But the thought of them killing the majority of your flock is heartbreaking. So sorry.

Me, I introduced my 1 week old chicks to the newly matured Hens. I kept them safe in my small animal trap, fed the girls watermelon, apples, strawberry tops next to the trap and took pictures. And then....Henny Penny Photo Bombed!!! Lol
