    Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

I, too, adore mine from Foley breeding. I have had others from other bloodlines and they were sweet but the color and pattern did not pop like on the Foley birds. You can tell the Foley's put a lot of work into their breeding programs. Their SLW are awesome, as well.

    Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

Yeah, it can get addictive! Have you seen my website? LOL I am still working on my Wyandotte pages and need to separate out all my ducks into their own breed pages now but I have a fairly large website and if I had time it would be much larger and more informative. Just too little time for all I...

    Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

I have an auction going through tomorrow night on the BST area for 14+ eggs from my BLRW pen. I have one well laced hen that has a sc but the others are all rc. I could not justify getting rid of a nice girl because of the sc so I kept her. I care more about temperament and beauty than what a...

Quote: Fabulous color! Wish I had more breeding pens. But I can't take on another few pens and live to tell about it. I am worked to death already. Oh, and to all the folks that ask what people think about their birds. I, and I am sure others, would love to answer...

You have some really good colors to work with. I think that black will look very well crossed with your splash roo. I know you are excited to hatch from them. Your blue pullet is a nice color from what I can see of the photos. Maybe 2012 will be your year for a lot of great BLRW hatches! How...

Quote: Thanks! I was out doing chores and could not answer right away. Some weeks they sell well on Ebay and sometimes not. The last auction ran the same and someone came in at the last minute and got them. I shipped them 10 eggs even though it was for 6+. When the girls are generous then I...

I have an auction on Ebay that goes off in about 6 hours for BLRW. I do not believe I have ever put a BLRW auction on here.

Quote: Here is the SOP for Wyandottes. This is the best place to start to help you evaluate your own bird. Keep in mind that every judge will have a different interpretation of this and so will you. It is all a learning curve. http://www.wyandottebreedersofamerica.net/wyandottestandard.htm

    Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

Quote: She is gold laced. If she was any kind of blue laced then she would have some bluing showing in her tail and under fluff. Here is a pullet (8 mths) that is a very dark blue, though she looks almost black. You can detect the dark blue on the tail feathers and behind her legs under her...

Jim, I have an ebay auction going for some right now. It ends in a few days. Mine are the Jerry Foley bloodlines for the most part. I do have a bit of other blood in there for diversity. The red is gorgeous on them. I got rid of all the bloodlines with the straw coloring. I like the deep red.

Quote: Are you using light on a timer? Mine turns on at 3:30 am so the girls get the 14 hours of light needed to stimulate laying. Mine are out in a tractor and even the 7 month old girl is laying. No lights. I do not like to use lights on mine. I do feed a very natural diet though instead...

    Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

I snapped a few photos last night before I put the BLRWs up for the night. They do enjoy grazing around the front pasture. They are laying well right now and good sized eggs so I am setting a few each week. I really don't want to raise chicks through the winter but I have a few chicks in...

    Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

Quote: I think you have 2 roos. I have been watching mine mature and grow as I hatch out almost every week now from my breeding pen. I have tagged a few blue for boys and pink for girls and it seems I am getting them right. But that may just be from my pen. I have had other people buy chicks...

    Blue Laced Red Wyandotte THREAD!

I am no Wyandotte expert. I know what I like in Wyandottes and it is usually not a conformation thing with them. I don't show so I can't say what is close to perfect and what is not. I do know that side by side my Foley rooster is a much nicer bird than my Buddy Henry bird but the personality...
