true it is just a deduction, and if competing against other birds of the same breed it won't matter, but if competing for best in class/show it will make it harder to win

there's no really clear shot of the hens' breast on those, but from what I see, there appears to be the same "shafting" we were discussing in the Welsummer group. Its very visible in the background hen in the next to last picture. Just a thin cream colored line going down each feather on the chest

I've looked at thousands of pictures of Welsummers and I have never seen one without the shaft color showing on the breast - its not mentioned anywhere in the SOP in regards to the breast color as a fault or DQ - but Walt informed us that if its not mentioned as being acceptable shafting is...

thanks for sharing this it was a real whammy for the Welsummer group and my first thought was of the CLB. Hopefully it prevents any confusion in the future. Better to be over descriptive than to leave something out that might be questioned.

Will the size of the crest be addressed in the standard? I'd like to know if the breeder is intentionally trying to breed to a larger crest or is that one hen just a fluke?

I'm the opposite, I feel that on such a big comb, the 7 points looks better. I'm glad you brought it up though because it looks like something that has to be a set number.
