The male looks wheaten, Im not sure about the female, maybe splash. She's not splash wheaten.
The more I look, the more she looks like she has some columbian going on there. Maybe be a mix of some sort.
Absolutely do it. Ive already been doing that, for the most part. Actually I have meeting places where I sell chickens or eggs, since I really dont want people coming to my home who I dont know. The meeting place is 10 mins from my house, and 99 times out of 100, the people meeting me are...
I thought with the wheaten roosters, the primaries are supposed to be brown, which distinguishes them from the black coppers. I dont see much brown if any in the primaries of these particular roosters.
I went out and took a few pics of the few wheatens that I have....lousy pictures, but it is what it is. First pictures are of my rooster, he's not perfect, but he's all I have right now.

I will confess, I do a lot of mixing up of my Marans. Worst case scenario, Ill end up with layers to sell eating eggs, which I cant keep up with the demand anyway. I have 4 gorgeous wheaten marans hens that I hatched from Katy, none of which are laying at the moment, but I have cuckoos...
I guess what I dont understand about the white fluff, especially in a breed/color that isnt yet in the SOP, is why is it a fault if its a part of the breed? Isnt the SOP supposed to describe what the perfect bird looks like? Not what a supposed not-yet-achieved bird looks like, but what the...
