Cream Legbar Working Group: Standard of Perfection

When I saw that photo on the Cream Legbar Breeders FB page, I almost asked a question about whether this guy would be considered stilt-y or not. IMO, it is. I don't know whether there are any inherent reasons why a bird should not have such LOOOONG legs, but I personally find them unattractive.

Good to know! I actually emailed her yesterday just to double-check that my order was good to go. I might have mentioned my affiliation with the club. Just maybe.

Woohoo! I'd gladly take you up on that. I have an order from GFF due in the next month or so. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I get some from the new lines, too.

It was great! I don't know about y'all, but I'm psyched and ready to help Cream Legbars take over the chicken world.

Cream Legbar Working Group: Standard of Perfection

I got NPIP certified back a couple of months ago and didn't get a fancy certificate. Your post made me paranoid, so I contacted the state to make sure I'm OK. Kansas doesn't give certificates, cards, or anything besides a carbon copy at the time of testing. I want a certificate, too! Maybe I...

It was pretty pricey, but I bought a huge roll of good quality stuff from Randall Burkey. I'd love to know if there is anyone who sells it at a discount.

I have some heavy-duty game bird netting that I was planning on using over the top of the run, but the fishing line was working fine and I got lazy.... I'll definitely break it out for the CL's pen when we build it.

I'm so sorry to read this! Cream Legbars seem to be hawk-bait for sure. :( The fact that a hawk got her with such closely spaced fishing line makes me scared. My fishing line is about 6" apart; I may have to re-think the area I will be keeping my Legbars in. Don't give up on CLs! Do you hatch...

I'm so sorry! I've never had the pleasure of mites in my flock, but I understand that it can really take a bird down very quickly. It would have to be your favorite, too. :(

This is my nightmare. It's so hard to know what to put out there when all you want to do is talk about chickens with like-minded folks. :(

Glad you are OK, Rinda. That is VERY scary and I'm glad the culprit didn't get away.

I'm also a fan of all capitals #2. I like the logo a lot. How great to hear and see the progress folks are making toward lightening the color of the birds with the stock we already have.

Watching with great interest. As I do not yet have any Cream Legbars, I obviously can't contribute anything of worth, but I certainly support these efforts. I will join a CL club that is formed and plan to breed my birds towards whatever SOP is decided upon.
